New snow overnight, combined with moderate to strong winds, has formed fresh thin wind slabs on upper elevation slopes. These slabs have been deposited onto a crust and will continue to form with today's forecasted winds. Recent warm temperatures have weakened cornices across our advisory area and should be given a wide berth. The avalanche danger is MODERATE above 5000 feet on steep wind loaded terrain.

Warm temperatures continue, and sunshine will be replaced by clouds and rain to 7000 feet later today sustaining the wet avalanche problems and dangerous conditions. Widespread wet, loose avalanches occurred over the past 72 hours and will continue today due to rain. Cornices continue to break and trigger slab avalanches (some large) on the slopes below. The danger remains CONSIDERABLE above 5000 feet and MODERATE below until tonight when temperatures finally drop.

Dangerous conditions due to wet avalanches, cornice fall, and lingering windslabs will persist until there is a solid re-freeze. Warm temperatures and periods of intense sunshine produced many natural avalanches over the past 48 hours. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE. The likelihood of both human triggered and natural avalanches will rise as the day progresses so choose conservative terrain to ski and ride in.

Warm temperatures, sunshine, and wet avalanches will continue today. The potential for human triggered and natural loose, wet avalanches, as well as avalanches triggered by cornice fall will increase as the day progresses and dangerous conditions develop. In the upper elevations pay attention to recent wind slabs that may be weakened by the warm temperatures. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE above 5000 feet and MODERATE below 5000 feet.

Above normal temperatures and intense spring sunshine will create wet avalanche problems and dangerous conditions as the day progresses. Get an early start and be off sunny slopes early in the day. Expect natural and human triggered wet, loose avalanches on most aspects and elevations. Cornices could also fail and trigger avalanches on the slope below, and watch for wind slabs at upper elevations. The danger will rise to CONSIDERABLE above 5000 feet and MODERATE below.

Wind slabs exist at upper elevations on many aspects due to recent moderate to strong winds from variable directions. Human triggered avalanches are possible. Warmer days and sunshine also bring wet snow avalanche problems. Wet loose avalanches, particularly on sunny aspects, will become an increasing hazard today. Large cornices can fail and trigger an avalanche on the slope below as well. The avalanche danger is MODERATE above 5000 feet and LOW below.

Recent atypical winds have formed wind slabs on a sun crust or onto low density snow atop a sun crust.  Previous wind slab development occurred on typical leeward aspects where lingering instabilities remain. Warming temperatures today will weaken surface snow and create wet loose slides. The avalanche danger is MODERATE. Carefully assess terrain for recently formed windslabs along ridgelines and cross-loaded features before committing to a slope. Pay attention to snow surface warming and adjust your travel accordingly.

We have a somewhat complex wind slab problem today. Recent snow, combined with north-northeast winds, will create fresh wind slabs on atypical slopes. In many locations these wind slabs will form on a sun crust and/or low density snow. Lingering instabilities in wind slabs formed over the past few days will be found on typical leeward aspects. The avalanche danger is MODERATE. Carefully assess terrain for recently formed windslabs along ridgelines and cross-loaded features before committing to a slope.

Fresh windslabs continue to form with a bit of new snow and continued drifting of recent snow. The avalanche danger is MODERATE, but will rise to CONSIDERABLE in locations favored by snow in this unique storm pattern*. Carefully assess terrain for recently formed windslabs along ridgelines and cross-loaded features before committing to a slope. Wind and snow added mass to large cornices so give them a wide margin while traveling above and minimize exposure below. See Swan advisory here.

Fresh windslabs continue to form with a bit of new snow and continued drifting of storm snow from earlier in the week. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE on wind loaded slopes above 6000 feet. Human triggered avalanches are likely. Carefully assess terrain for recently formed windslabs along ridgelines and cross-loaded features before committing. Elsewhere, the danger is MODERATE. Wind and snow added mass to large cornices so give them a wide margin while traveling above and minimize exposure below.

Moderate winds with strong gusts continue to drift the recent abundant snow and thicken wind slabs. Human triggered avalanches are possible, particularly in steep, wind loaded terrain. Heightened avalanche conditions exist above 5000 feet where the danger is MODERATE. Continue to carefully evaluate wind loaded and cross loaded terrain before committing to a slope. Also, wind and snow added mass to large cornices so give them a wide margin while traveling above and minimize exposure below.

Today should be a repeat of last weekend with another sharp transition from winter to spring conditions. Warming temperatures and sun expected today will weaken the surface of nearly 2 feet of recent snow, and increase the likelihood of loose, wet avalanches. The avalanche danger will rise to CONSIDERABLE on sunny slopes above 5000 feet today. In other terrain the danger is MODERATE. Carefully evaluate recently formed wind slabs for lingering instability and give large cornices a wide buffer.
