March 6, 2016 at 7:00 The avalanche danger will begin MODERATE, but additional rain and snow today will cause the hazard to rise to CONSIDERABLE. Wet snow avalanche problems will continue with warm temperatures and continued rain. In the upper elevations look for fresh, reactive windslabs and pay attention to new slab formation at lowering levels as the day progresses. In isolated areas a cohesive slab exists over a layer of buried surface hoar.

March 5, 2016 at 6:55 Wet snow avalanche problems will continue today due to warm temperatures and light rain showers in the upper elevations. It is important to pay attention to changing weather conditions. Light rain will cause the surface snow to become more unstable, particularly in unconsolidated snow that was shaded from yesterday's sun. Also watch for cornices and lingering wind slabs in steep, upper elevation terrain. The avalanche hazard is MODERATE above 5000 feet. |

March 4, 2016 at 6:55 Sunshine and warm temperatures today will cause wet snow avalanche problems. With recent snow as ammunition, natural and human triggered wet loose avalanches will become more likely on sunny slopes. Avoid sunny aspects as the day progresses and move to more shaded terrain. Also watch for cornices and lingering wind slabs in steep, upper elevation terrain. The hazard is MODERATE but could rise to CONSIDERABLE on steep, sunny aspects this afternoon. |

March 3, 2016 at 6:40 Strong to extreme winds and a bit of new snow earlier in the week formed wind slabs and sensitive cornices. Heightened avalanche conditions exist above 5500 ft. and human triggered avalanches are possible. Carefully evaluate all wind loaded terrain, A layer of buried surface hoar exists about 0.5-1.5 feet below the surface and warrants investigation. The danger is MODERATE above 5500 ft. and LOW below. |

March 2, 2016 at 7:06 Due to strong to extreme winds and new snow over the past 48 hours the avalanche danger on steep wind loaded terrain above 6000 feet is CONSIDERABLE. Treat all wind loaded terrain as suspect and carefully evaluate recent windslabs before committing to a slope. All other terrain above 5000 feet is MODERATE and below 5000 feet the danger is LOW. |

March 1, 2016 at 6:57 The avalanche danger is MODERATE above 5000 feet. Recent snow and strong winds formed fresh wind slabs at mid and upper elevations and these should continue to form today. Carefully evaluate recent windslabs before committing to a slope. Yesterday's snow was deposited on a crust and loose dry avalanches could be initiated today by a skier or rider on steep terrain. In all other terrain the danger is LOW. Continue to practice safe travel techniques. |

February 28, 2016 at 7:00 The avalanche danger is MODERATE in wind loaded terrain. Carefully evaluate recent windslabs before committing to a slope. Fresh wind slabs should be thin, but consider the terrain you are traveling in and the consequence of a small slide. In all other terrain the danger is LOW. Continue to practice safe travel technique, and pay attention to softening surface crusts from warming temperatures and potential sun exposure. |

February 27, 2016 at 7:16 The avalanche danger is MODERATE above 5000 feet. Given the lack of substantial re-freeze, increasing wind, and additional rain/snow expected today human triggered avalanches are possible. Pay close attention to changing weather conditions. We are dealing with a surface hoar layer that will create dangerous conditions as a slab forms above it. The Swan Range is expected to be favored with precipitation totals, the avalanche danger will rise to CONSIDERABLE as the day progresses. |

February 25, 2016 at 6:57 Lingering wind slabs at upper elevations continue as our main concern today. Human triggered avalanches are possible and you are most likely to trigger an avalanche in upper elevation wind loaded terrain. Increasing sunshine and warming will weaken the snow surface later in the day creating loose, wet avalanche potential. Evaluate snow and terrain carefully. The danger is MODERATE above 5000 feet. Below 5000 feet the danger is LOW. |
