Light snow and wind return to our area today.  Look for small pockets of new or wind drifted snow on all aspects. A surface crust on sunny aspects will inhibit bonding and act as a slippery bed surface. Stay alert for changing conditions and monitor new snow amounts. Continue to practice safe travel techniques.

Yesterday's storm was intense but short-lived. Thin storm slabs formed on all aspects but will be thickest below ridgelines. Loose snow slides may be human triggered on steep slopes or initiate naturally with prolonged solar input. Evaluate the bonding of new snow to the old snow surface. Cracking under your feet or machine is an obvious sign of instability. 

The avalanche danger is MODERATE today but may rise to CONSIDERABLE later today if snowfall amounts are higher than forecasted. Changing conditions may develop with increasing snowfall intensity and wind loading. Evaluate storm totals and bonding of new snow to the old snow surface. Cracking in the snow surface is a signs of storm slab instability.

The return of light snow and southwest winds are forming thin storm slabs on a variety of surfaces. Slabs will be thickest and most reactive on leeward aspects at upper elevations. Slides may travel long distances due to the underlying firm bed surface. Use caution while riding above terrain traps and long-running gullies. Surface cracking and collapsing is a sign of a sensitive slab.
