March 19, 2017 at 6:41 Yesterday's substantial rainfall and warm temperatures resulted in an elevated avalanche danger today. The avalanche danger is MODERATE at all elevations due to a saturated snow surface at low and mid elevations and a weakening of cornices in the upper elevations. Pay attention to changing conditions at the snow surface and below the surface where free water is percolating through the snow pack. |

March 18, 2017 at 6:58 Warming temperatures combined with light rain overnight and through the day has, and will continue to, elevate the avalanche danger. The avalanche danger is MODERATE at all elevations this morning but may rise to CONSIDERABLE above 6000 feet if forecasted rain amounts materialize. Pay attention to changing conditions at the snow surface and below the surface where free water is percolating through the snow pack. |

March 17, 2017 at 7:08 Freezing temperatures over the past 24 hours locked up the snowpack overnight. The avalanche danger will begin at LOW at all elevations. Warming temperatures and abundant sunshine will increase the avalanche danger to MODERATE above 5000 feet today. With an incoming system, be aware of warming temperatures and a spring mix of precipitation rapidly weakening the snow surface. |

March 16, 2017 at 7:00 Large, natural loose, wet and wet slab avalanches were reported yesterday. Dangerous conditions associated with wet snow will linger until temperatures return to freezing. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE. Sinking deep into the snow on skis or when you step off your machine are signs that the surface snow remains unstable. Also, dig into the snow and look for pooled water above crusts that may indicate wet slab instability. Choose conservative terrain while we wait for the temperature to drop. |

March 14, 2017 at 7:00 The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE at all elevations today. Unseasonably warm temperatures and rain will create dangerous avalanche conditions. Freezing levels are on the rise and we could see rain up to 7000 feet by this afternoon. Above freezing temperatures combined with rain often lead to an unstable snowpack. Human triggered avalanches are likely. Pay attention to changing conditions and be conservative with your terrain choices.

March 13, 2017 at 6:59 Recent snowfall is being transported onto leeward slopes by moderate southwesterly winds. Wind slabs are forming on lower density snow creating dangerous avalanche conditions. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE above 6000 feet where a human triggered avalanche is likely on wind loaded aspects. Carefully evaluate wind loaded terrain before committing to a slope. Below 6000 feet the danger is MODERATE where heightened avalanche conditions exist due to continued wind loading, warming temperatures and the potential of rain today. |

March 12, 2017 at 6:58 Moderate to strong winds returned to our area last night and will continue through the day forming fresh wind slabs and adding weight to existing slabs. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE above 6000 feet where a human triggered avalanche is likely on typical leeward aspects. Carefully evaluate wind loaded terrain before committing to a slope. Below 6000 feet the danger is MODERATE where heightened avalanche conditions exist due to recent and continued wind loading and rain on snow. |

March 11, 2017 at 7:00 Yesterday, a widespread natural avalanche cycle occurred due to dense snow being deposited onto lower density snow combined with warming temperatures. Continued moderate to strong winds overnight have formed fresh wind slabs in favored windy locations. The avalanche danger is CONSIDERABLE above 5000 feet where a human triggered avalanche is likely. Carefully evaluate recent storm and wind deposited snow before committing to a slope. Below 5000 feet the danger is MODERATE where heightened avalanche conditions exist. |

March 10, 2017 at 7:00 Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist after receiving up to 7" of heavy snow (up to 1" of SWE) overnight. Our storm came in cold but rapidly warmed up this morning, creating “upside-down” storm slabs. These fresh slabs will be very reactive today and could have buried old wind slabs that developed during the last week. The avalanche danger above 6000’ is HIGH. The avalanche danger below 6000’ is CONSIDERABLE. Skiing and riding in avalanche terrain is not recommended today. |

March 8, 2017 at 7:00 The avalanche danger is MODERATE above 5000 feet. More snow and moderate to strong winds today will continue to form wind slabs making it possible to trigger an avalanche on wind loaded slopes. Be cautious of all wind-loaded terrain today. Carefully evaluate the conditions before committing to a slope. Below 5000 feet the danger is LOW. Identify and avoid features of concern. |
