Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Went up the Marion trail which was tolerable due to an inch of new snow. Gained the ridge at about 6,700 ft. There was 8-9" of new snow on a supportable crust above 6,000 ft. on the south facing side that decends to the up track.  The skiing was pleasing down to 6,000 ft. After that it took a delicate edge though it never became trap crust. There was a lot of small mammal activity - weasels, squirrels, and hares.  Light snow all day and a high of 24. The trail down was the typical Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and a good chance to fine tune your right leg down side slip. There was no slumping, cracking, or whumping. There was no evidence of recent avalanches. Still bushy below 5,800 ft.
