Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

The recent easterly wind event formed small cornices on westerly aspects.  These wind features were soft (Fist to 4Finger hard) and did not possess cohesive qualities.  We did find a buried surface hoar layer in our pits on a southwest and north aspect.  This layer was located immediately below the recent 2-4 inches of new snow. Our north facing pit had a 48cm layer of large grain (2-3cm) facets as it's basal layer.  Sunny aspects had a 1 inch sun crust.  No results were observed in our stability tests.
