Quick Observation
Day of tour up to WMR for beacon practice and to take a lap in the canyon.
New snow sluffed easily in steep terrain. Did not entrain enough snow to be a hazard by itself.
At the notch, we felt sustained moderate winds. Leeward slopes across the canyon were wind affected. We stuck to sheltered terrain, so we did not get any feedback on wind slabs.
Light snowfall throughout the morning with a brief period of S5 around noon. More graupel.
Early February crusts down 18 to 24 inches.
