Got out for a quickie this morning to asses the new snow under our skis. We found 6 inches of new snow. The quality of the snow was light and settled. The néw snow had covered all tracks that were previously on the slope. On our first run we skied an open SE facing slope sticking to the lower angled aspects (slighly less than 35 degree ski) and trimming the tree line. Skinning up an open West facing slope we did not see any signs of instabilities. We kept the angle low and stomped on a few corners but saw no breaking on them. Our final run took us into the lower elevations where we felt the crust left from Sunday's rime event and Monday's rain. We got out of there before the sun hit it too hard, but I am sure the surface snow got wet on S facing slopes by afternoon.
