Quick Observation
Toured to 7600'; descended a N aspect, then a NW aspect to valley floor.
Wind was non-existent at elevation today.
Valleys were under slight inversion during the AM hours, but cloud deck lifted in the PM leading to mostly sunny, calm conditions.
Isolated pockets of windslab found in choice locations; one skier triggered windslab (12") popped 15ft wide within tight trees, but moderate slope nullified the hazard and debris terminated immediately.
Ventured into open terrain with undulating slope angles (30*-40*) In steep, lightly wind-loaded, low consequence terrain ski cuts were unproductive .
Evidence of numerous very large avalanches that ran to valley floor during the last avalanche cycle; one S facing chute, in particular, ran full path and crossed Essex Creek, debris pile in excess of 20'+ (see photo)
Overall, stable conditions and good riding in the terrain we skied.
