Toured up Hellroaring Peak to look for wind transported snow. Found shooting cracks in wind drifts and active wind transport. At 6700 feet on a N aspect we found 315 cm deep snow pack and dug a 135cm pit on a 39 degree slope. CT showed failure on 1st tap at storm snow layer 32cm, Q2. Failed again with moderate force at 59cm depth and once more with strong force at 79cm depth, all witha Q2 shear. ECTN 1 at 17cm however got ECTP 14 at 47cm and ECTP 16 at 85cm depths. Each of these corresponded with hardness changes at similar depths however the block didn't "pop" into the pit. This propagation result made us manage our terrain to less than 30 degree slopes. Overcast day with moderate winds and moderate snowfall.
