Following my horoscope from last week and a tip from a dirty shaman I met in the soup section in Super 1, we decided to head to Ousel Peak today.
Snow surface conditions ranged from trenches in the dirt to logs to alder choked hallways to windblasted styrofoam riddled with shark fins. Sustained moderate winds with strong gusts kept us on our toes near the ridge, and low angle north aspects near 7000 ft produced numerous collapses. The sun wasn't much of a factor today, with most of the potential new accumulations blowing away into Nyack creek.
