Widespread wet loose cycle at low-mid elevations beginning Wednesday, Jan. 12th and lasting through Thursday, Jan.13th. Many D1-1.5 and a few D2s on steep slopes above the rail, highway 2, and the river.
One avalanche reached the rail grade, burying Main 1. Details under the avalanche tab.
One D2 wet loose reach the rail this afternoon (Jan. 13th). Occurred just west of Shed 7, not in a named path, but on a steep, rocky, but treed terrain right above the rail. Avalanche ran through a couple hundred feet of forest to deposit debris on Main 1, the “inside” mainline nearest the uphill slope on the grade. Debris was 3-6’ deep and about 30’ wide and stopped an east-bound train. Had to get the front end loader back up on the grade to clear it.
