Weak layer buffet on Mt Brown

Stable conditions but weak layers forming...

• Widespread weak layer formation consists of small grained facets above a slick suncrust on sunny aspects or just facets on shaded aspects. Large surface hoar grains formed in some shaded, upper elevation terrain. 
• Yesterday’s sunshine and warm temperatures triggered numerous wet loose avalanches on steep, southerly aspects, mostly small. Today’s moderate wind speeds seemed to keep the problem at bay.
• Last week’s SW wind was minimal below 7000’, but hit higher terrain in some areas, triggering a couple of small wind slabs in crossloaded gullies. We skied on some steep, leeward terrain today at high elevations with no signs of instability.
