strong sun effect today, minimal wind. we skied east, NE and N apects with mostly good results of soft snow, some wind buffed pow and the occaional windboard/crust. some wet slides heard and seen at mid elevations, nothing up high. glide cracks starting on the slabby ramps of the flathead range. only place we saw surface hoar was between 7500 and 8k on east aspects (a bit of a strange place?) below some rather large cornices.
