we skinned thru the tropical snowpack that is below 5500' and eventually found 3-5" of creamy pow on top of supportable crust. this crust was present all the way up to 7500'. no signs of instability while skiing or while looking around before the storm rolled in. around 2 pm it started snowing steadily and was socked in. on the ski out the snow turned to rain around 4500'.
