Quick Observation
Quick morning spin to ~6600 ft. high point in the northern Flathead Range.
We observed no obvious signs of instability.
1-2 inches of new snow above 4500 feet sits atop the thick knife hard crust - plates sparkling in the morning sun, but no surface hoar observed.
This new snow sluffs easily on steep slopes, but is harmless.
We found no evidence of wind slab formation involving the new snow from yesterday.
The crust still supportable at all elevations, but we noted it's absence on north-facing, very protected slopes around 6500 ft.
Morning weather: partly cloudy skies, sunshine, and calm WSW wind.
