Had a nice tour up to the Jewel Basin area today.
Overcast and windy today, but the temp in my car said 37 degrees when I got back around 1600. Rain crust up to 4800'.
A lot of wind transport was observed today as well as a lot of shooting cracks on wind-loaded features around my split board.
Dug a pit on an NW aspect at 6100' to see how reactive the wind slabs were at mid-elevations. This was the NW aspect of the switchback trail ridge in the trees.
Got a CT5-SP 25cm down and a CT17-SP 68cm down.
Got an ECTP12 25cm down and an ECTN26 68cm down.
The layer 25 cm down looked like 1mm facets and the later 68 cm down looked like 2mm facets.
