Skooks ridge in WF range on 12/27. Winds blowing on ridge top from SW, slightly snowing all day, overcast, mid-20's. We were the only skier group. Dug small pit, found shallow snow pack, with 2 distinct ice layers and uncoehsive fascets above and below the layers. Chose conservatively and skied low angle, treed, known terrain w 3 or more inches of powder on top of surprisingly supportable crust.
