Skied up GTTS road early on Sunday 4/21/19 to Lunch Creek and then booted up to the saddle between Piegan and Pollock. It was firm enough on a west facing slope from mid 7K? to the saddle for me to put an ice axe in hand. Soft on firm is more accurate. What was rain crust down low was now 1" to 4" of new snow on variable crust from breakable to firm snow that took several whacks for solid boot penetration in a matter of twenty feet. Observed stable conditions except for the slide picured just beyond Siyeh bend. It seemingly started from a cornice fall that triggered some snowpack to release at the ground level in steep terrain. I did not see the slide, only it's aftermath. It covered the road in a few spots and was maybe 3' deep maximum at the road. At 2:30pm as I changed footwear and loaded my bike with skiis, several much smaller avalanaches occurred, both in the same slide path and on more northerly aspects.
