Toured up the west facing center ridge of running rabbit. Cold east winds soon turned calm. Obvious wind effect on everything east facing. 4 inches of blower on top of supportive sun crust transitioned to 6 inches of awesomeness on top of stronger denser snow(very right side up feeling) by 6000 ft. First sw facing pit at approximately 6000 showed a healthy looking snowpack 4ft down with unremarkable ect. At 7000 feet just about to climb over a little convexity on the ridge just before it mellows out and you’re at the line . Had a sketchy feel to it . Didn’t like it it dug a pit. The pack here was 3and a half feet total with some very obvious sugar towards the bottom. First ect had clean failure and collapse on this layer at 20. My partner dug and performed another ect near the first. This time he said the entire snowpack was “jigging “ with the first few taps. Dropped into the deeper snow on a steepish s facing tree chute and found stable fluffy snow full of face shots. Still gotta look both ways even if ya have the greenlight
