Windshield observations of avalanche activity from Hwy 2. Numerous D1 to D1.5 wet loose on E-S-W aspects along with a few D2s. One D2 slab on the east face of Snowslip Mtn. in Shields Creek. More information under Avalanche Details tab.
From the photo the crown looks partially filled in, so thinking this is a few days old. It was not there on the afternoon of the 6th. Almost looks like two different events? Upper slope looks to be cornice fall which popped out slab on slope directly undereath? Then secondary, larger avalanche may have been triggered next. Could not see the terminus of debris so vertical run is best guess based on knowledge that the terrain benches out about 500 feet below the crown.
