Quick Observation
Day off tour, taking advantage of good stability to explore new terrain accessed from Noisy Basin.
Another 1" or so overnight. Very light snowfall and calm winds through the day.
We skied steep, open terrain up to 45° on various aspects at mid and upper elevations without any signs of instability or identifiable avalanche problems (based on quick pits and surface obs).
The 3"-4" of storm snow is settling and bonding better to the old interfaces than yesterday. Sluffing was less reactive today.
