Quiet day despite the crowds

Traveled to the Middle Fork to look for effects from the recent northeast wind event.

• The parking lot was busier than we have seen this season. 
• We noted that most of the Wahoo drainage is not affected by northeast wind events.
• Wind affected snow was found on the Wahoo/Cascadilla Ridge (hard slab) and the east facing open slopes dropping into Cascadilla. Interestingly, just the top 50' of the leeward side of these features had soft wind slab development.  The north face of Nyack Mountain had substantial wind affected surface snow. 
• One recent wind slab avalanche was noted on Nyack Mountain @ 6700'.
• Instabilities today were limited to cracking in wind affected snow.
