Traveled around Goulie point in terrain between 5500-6500 feet and S-SE aspects.
We noted no obvious signs of instability. During inforal and more formal snowpack assesments we observed a snopack with poor structure, high friction, and no propogation.
The snowpack in this zone seems to be lacking the facets that are others note as the weak layer (LOC) on other nearby aspects. The snowpack here also seemed to be missing a cohesive slab.
We chose simple terrain on more sunward sloes to avoid the persistant slab issue.
We noted that the snow quality was "fun". =)
