Persistent Slab in Skiumah

While traveling in Skiumah Creek we noted a Persistent Slab avalanche on Mt Penrose. 

• We determined that the slide occurred several days prior due to the new snow and wind slab which covered portions of the debris.
• The slide failed on the February 2 (Groundhog Day) crust and we believe that it was triggered by icefall.
• The crown was up to 60" deep and 200' wide with debris terminating at the head of Skiumah Lake 2700' below
