Mt Brown

Traveled to interior Glacier Park to observe the effects of recent stormy weather.

• Recent storms have deposited ~ 7" of settled snow above 6500'. A thin freezing rain crust caps this new snow.
• Light southwest winds transported snow overnight and through the day resulting in fresh cornice formation and drifts up to 2' in depth. 
• Fresh wind slabs are soft (4F) and up to 8" thick with instabilities confined to cracking.
• Storm slabs are soft (4F), thin (2-4") and found below the wind slab.
• Warming temperatures resulted in sticky snow and rain at low elevations this afternoon.
• Visibility was poor resulting in no views of surrounding avalanche terrain.
