Quick Observation
Our party of two toured the Flathead Range near Essex and found quality conditions.
Winds were calm with light snowfall throughout the day; overcast and below freezing
No signs of instability observed
Skied multiple laps between 7-6k in well anchored, low angle terrain (32*-35*) on a S facing slope
Snowpack was right-side up, denser snow from earlier storms was capped with a few inches of fluff
Generally speaking, above 6000' snow depths range from 4-5ft. Below 6000', 18"-24" of supportable
No formal pits were dug, just a few hand pits to reveal the upper portion of the pack
