Mellow McGinnis

We went for a quick ride into McGinnis Creek to monitor the snow surface and warming ahead of this week’s warm and sunny weather.

• Cool temperatures, calm winds, and a mix of sun and clouds today. 
• There is about 8” of relatively soft snow above the last crust. That snow was getting moist on low elevation southerlies, but not quite enough for rollerballs or pinwheels. The crust from yesterday’s sun remained mostly in tact as of 1:30 pm
• A few rollerballs and very small loose wet slides ran yesterday.
• We saw no signs of instability and felt comfortable riding steep terrain.
