Quick Observation
Great day skiing cold dry snow in the Flathead Range.
Toured into Remington Creek up to 7600'.
6-8 inches of new snow observed at our highest elevations.
New snow appeared to be almost entirely grauple.
These deep cohesionless pellets slough readily on steeps, but didn't seem to run very fast. It skied like cold dry sand and made a very pleasing hiss as we schussed about.
New snow appears to have started warm/wet and finished dry. It seemed well bonded at the interface with the old hard ice layer.
The kiss of death (the sun) made an appearance late afternoon (3pm) at mid/lower elevations and quickly wetted the snow surface on W/NW aspects.
