Quick afternoon walk up Skook ridge to check out the latest additions to the snowpack.
Surface hoar (~0.5-1.0cm) present on South, West and North aspects, 5800' to 6400'
Sits on/in 10-15cm low-density snow over a melt/freeze crust
Hasty pit on N aspect @ 6400'
HS =125cm
Surface Hoar/Precip Particles
15cm recent (F) snow
Melt/freeze crust weaker at this elevation
1F slab below crust
Bush ~ 50 cm down
Overcast skies, calm wind, and S-1 precip
Some sloughing but nothing crazy
No obvious signs of instability
