We headed up to Marion keen to miss the teeming crowds at WMR. The approach trail is shaping up nicely, and by shaping, I mean that it's well beveled most of the way in and the rocks are sticking up in places. Sun kicked on by 10am, and we investigated north aspects (15cm of new snow atop a stout 3cm crust perfect for making windows) before heading for the sun on Repeater Ridge. Over there, the same new snow and underlying crust was there, but solar was affecting the snow and things were a little gloppy. Most of the evidence of the carnage from earlier in the week in the vicinity has been masked by the melt and new snow.
