Frozen Eyelashes in Cascadilla

We were curious if yesterday’s winds impacted the Cascadilla drainage.  We were rewarded with a cold, clear day of sunshine and untouched snow.  

• On the tour up, we observed several fans of loose-dry debris on both northern and southern aspects.  
• From the ridge west of the drainage (6,100 ft), we saw thin (2-4 inch) wind slabs in both Crystal Ck. and Cascadilla.
• While descending, the biggest hazard was my eyelashes freezing together. Beside that, we managed our sluffs that remained loose due these cold temperatures.
