Quick Observation
Great to see all the ski tourers out there today.
Skied north, east, south aspects. 7000' down to valley bottoms.
No visible avalanches, or signs of snow instabilities.
Some surface sloughing on steeper pitches, 40*.
Moderate to strong winds on all aspects and elevations
Plenty of loose snow for wind transportation with 4" of snow overnight , and 1-2" of mixed forms and graupel during the day.
Winds were strong enough to create cornices on trees ridge lines.
Good skiing, although the upper 24 inches is settling out, soft slab overlaying lower density snow.
Sun made a few brief appearances, but not enough to affect the snow surface.
