My partner and I started our tour in Wahoo drainage this morning, leaving the TH at 815. We ascended the East side of the the drainage and dug a pit on the E side of the Ridge above Cascadilla drainage at 6000 ft. Our skin tack from the previous day was filled back in and unable to be found. We dug down 130 cm to get to the crust layer. Note that we dug just below the ridge line. The new snow was 20 cm deep here on top of new crust layer from saturdays warm up. For results we got ECTN13 on the new crust layer and ECTP20 on the same layer. No other results.
We skied E facing aspect from 6,600 ft on Wahoo ridge into Cascadilla to upper lake and toured to the east to the ridge the seperates Cascadilla and Crystal, our high point was the upper bench (6,500) below Nyak face. We skied into Crystal creek, E facing. I dug a hand pit skinning back up to the ridge and observed 35 cm of new, drier snow in this drainage ontop of the new crust. Above the new crust I noticed some graupel. Ascending to our high point on Cascadilla/ Crystal drainage our skin track was filled back in in spots. We skied the N aspect back into Cascadilla and noticed some sluffing on steeper rolls.
Good skiing on all aspects and good visibility later in the day.
