-At the trailhead (3900') there was 3" of low density snow sitting on top of the 2" Thanksgiving rain crust.
-Between 4500-5500' there was a 1 cm thick sun crust on sunny aspects. Tree bombs, pinwheels and very small loose snow slides verified this solar warming.
-Above 5500' up to 8" of low density snow sat on the Thanksgiving rain crust and was not bonding to this crust. Surface hoar, 4-8 mm, capped the snow surface and was formed by the Stratus cloud that has been parked at this elevation for the past 4 days. The Thanksgiving crust was up to 6" thick but was decomposing and much weaker than previously observed in other locations.
-Very minimal cracking was observed underfoot, even in the vicinity of upper elevation cornices.
Utilized the open Camas Road to access the Huckleberry Lookout trailhead. Hiked the trail for 2.5 miles and then skied the trail for 1.5 miles to the saddle. We then left the trail and followed the subridge to the main Apgar ridge. We wandered the ridge in a thick layer of Stratus clouds before we retraced our steps back to the vehicle.
