It was a great day for a tour up Dorthy! Lots of impressive cornices across Skook Ridge. All of the beautiful surface hoar skied wonderfuly!
Intended to ski down to the lake on the north side until I went looking for THE crust and didn't find it. The runs we closed off today was terrain steeper than 35 degrees with no 1/13 rain crust. So we made the conservative decision to head south towards the land of bulletproof crust and suface hoar.
In the quick pit on the North side at 6800' I got a CT22@25cm down and CT24@60cm down. Both went on faceted snow and I did not find the buried surface hoar.
