Quick Observation
Toured in Dickey Creek today.
Pristine unconsolidated powder was found on all aspects.
Sunny skies did not affect surface of the snow.
Winds were calm to light on ridglines and summit (above 7 grand).
Dug a pit on SE aspect, 6800 ft.
HS 275 cm
ECTn14, 60 cm down- Storm Slab
With extra hard force we had partial propogation 100 cm down on groundhog day crust- Persistent Slab.
On our final descent of the day we noticed a storm slab that likely released yesterday at 6400 feet on a steep (38-40 degrees) S facing start zone of a gully
It appeared that it was around 18 inches deep and estimated 200 feet wide and ran 1500 feet (length of path)
MF is shaping up nicely
