12-14” new snow on the groomed road going into Dickey Creek. I estimate 16-20” new snow at the ridge top with little evidence of wind transport. Set off a few small sluffs on test slopes during the first lap. Second lap, we tempted slightly steeper terrain. I ski cut a 35-38 degree test slope and set off the pictured soft slab. 6,500 feet NNE facing. It was about 18” thick and propogated about 30-40 feet before ending at a tree. It failed on a density change near a grauple layer. Promptly moved back into shallower slopes and enjoyed winters return with great, tree skiing.
