Ski tour up Devil Creek south of Hwy 2. About 5 inches new snow on top of a 1 and a half inch thick crust at the TH. This crust was present all the way to my high point at 6200 feet, but up there it was less than half inch thick. About a foot of new snow on top of this latest crust at 6200'. Occasional very light snow with calm winds down in sheltered terrain where I travelled. But noticed that around 2 pm ridgetop winds had subsided and I no longer saw any wind-loading above. Visibility was great and I could see to the ridgelines above and view most all aspects. No recent avalanche activity to be seen.
