Instabilities continued to present themselves in various ways throughout the mid and low-upper elevation bands near Marias Pass.
- Between 8-10 inches of settled new snow is sitting on the stout 11/19 crust.
- Propagating results in an extended column test. This failure occurred on facets above the 11/19 crust.
- Numerous cracks (extending 3-5 ft) on our up-track. Predominately between ~5000-5600 ft.
- 6K' and above is heavily wind-scoured.
- Isolated pockets of stubborn wind slab existed in small terrain features ~5800' and above.
With that said, we rode on slopes that were no more than 32 degrees in steepness. Best riding conditions were in sheltered, low angle terrain anyway. Exposed=Scoured.
