Skook face (south face, north of big mtn), 6600’. Widespread whoomps and cracks about 6” deep on the low angle hike up. Skinned on steeper terrain probably around 35 degrees for a second run and heard the whole slope whoomping all around me and subjectivity 70’ up above me. Dug a pit, changed my underwear, and continued to hear the whole slope settle as I got out of there. The first layer was probably that surface hoar around 6” deep, the deeper one was facets on top of a rain crust. Cracks went down to the 6”, I think the deeper layer was the whoomper.
