We traveled south out of WMR today with the goal of exploring some new terrain. We skied and toured up a number of different aspects all over the compass, including mid thirties angles on a NW aspect (attached pit photo). We witnessed no cracking, whumphing, or any indicators of instability. Pit results were unremarkable, with no propagation in ECT. Weather was stable all day--no snow movement, below freezing, and only light winds with broken sky cover. It should be noted that the alders in the lower recessed near the Canyon Cr road are in fine form.
