Skied E and W aspects at 6000-7000', opting for low-angle terrain. Winds were moderate from the south all day, with only 1-2" of snow falling during the day, but a lot of snow transport of the new snow. Noted regular cracking in the top 2" of snow, and failure in this layer on isolation in hand pits. Another soft slab lurks 8-10" deeper, which was cracking on switchbacks but disintegrated in handpits. We didn't ski anything steep or open enough to see it move, but it's worth watching as the oncoming storm adds more load on top.
