Back again

We missed the alder fields, so we went back to ski the middle fork.

• No new avalanche activity, only a few lonely roller balls that rolled full path.
• Above 5k, 60cms of soft snow above the 1/13 crust, which transitioned to stiffer, more consolidated snow.
• Above 6k, 85cms of softer snow above the 1/13 crust. It looked better than it skied. The drifted snow provided a soft blanket for old avalanche debris and crust irregularities.
• East facing terrain proved to have a stouter crust than west or north facing terrain.
• The best skiing was below 5k where we slalomed the alders.
