Wandered east of the continental divide today. Found a couple wind slabs avalanches that failed on a 2-3 inch crust. Crown ranged from 1-5 feet. Where I measured the snowpack was 140cm deep, with the wind slabs making up 90cm of the snowpack. These were above 6500 feet on east facing aspects. These snapped tree branches and ran into gullies with debris deep enough to bury someone. Weather today was warm and wet. The occasional sprinkle of rain and sleet up high, snow is very wet - enough for wet slides to be a concern if going to steeper terrain.
