Toured up to Marion Lake and spun a few laps off repeater ridge. The weekend storm snow seemed to be warming up from the prior day, starting to consolidate, popping out in handpits on a layer of facets below. Dug a pit on a north aspect about 6500’, CT19 at 30cm from surface, and CT 28 at 60cm, both fairly clean shears. We did not find the groundhogs day crust in 120cm of digging. We stuck to low-angle, treed terrain, and the skiing was great all day. We could see notable wind-effect across the valley in the less protected, south-facing slopes. Temps seemed to be dropping with some snow coming in as we exited.
