Despondent that my groomed run season ended prematurely, I went to the Middle Fork to drown my sorrows.

• Southerlies between 5500 - 6700': The 1-2" surface crust broke down by noon leaving 2-3" of wet surface snow capping 6" of moist snow resting on a crust. This snow looks old, weary, and not susceptible to wet loose activity. 
• Northerlies: Still holding dry snow at all elevations. We found up to 12" of faceting old powder between 6600 - 4500'. Exposed mid-slope locations held unreactive soft wind slabs from last weekend's NE wind event. 
• No recent avalanche activity observed.
