Weak layers forming in the Park

Found a few isolated and harmless  instabilities while traveling on various aspects at mid and upper elevations near Sperry Chalet. 

• Problematic snow surfaces in the making! Bathtub ring of 3-4mm surface hoar over a rain crust around 6000’. Above that elevation, small grained facets forming in the top 2” in wind sheltered areas and denser wind affected snow elsewhere. Below 5500’ in elevation, a breakable rain crust with a dusting of new snow from the fog layer. 
• Light wind transport above 8000’ and we triggered one very small 6” wind slab. Some rollerball activity and minor sluffing at windsheltered locations on S/W aspects between 6000-6500’. Pit results unreactive and no other signs of instability or slab avalanches in the past 48 hours. Evidence of a few older D1.5. storm slabs from earlier in the week at high elevations.
