Toured from Shields to Running Rabbit in the sunshine, above the clouds. It was warm up high, with hot-pow in the sun, and crusterific skiing in the shade. Saw one large crown from a distance in the middle-fork (zoom into first pic), and one on the NE aspect of Running Rabbit that seemed a couple of days old. Had no plans to ski the gully for the final descent, but several notable collapses on the final ridge confirmed that thought and spooked us from being under anything steep. Lots of roller balls all day confirmed the obvious warming snowpack. Seemed every bit of a spring day except for the very unconsoldated and unsupportable boot pack up to Snowslip summit, which reminded us that the sugar is still close-by (a mere leg-length away) in the shallow, rocky terrain.
