Quick Observation
Most recent melt-freeze/rain crust (1/4) existing to roughly 5000', atop said crust 2-4" of dense, heavy snow.
Above 5000'; accumulations up to 6+". Heavier snowfall rates coincided with cold air intrusion around 1200. Snowfall rates exceeded 1"/hr between 1000-1200.
Snowfall ceased around 1300 and skies became broken, generally overcast.
Winds were moderate and gusting to 30+mph from the W above 6500'.
Impressive cornice growth in the higher elevations. Some cornice failures observed.
Wind slabs developing on the East side of the compass; most evident in high profile areas such as convexities and along ridgelines. These slabs were reactive on steeper (<35*) test slopes, 1F hardness, and up to 8" thick.
Stuck to low angle, anchored, sheltered terrain and found great riding conditions.
